Pre-Write: For this essay since it was the last one I wanted to do something different and creative. So when writing this essay I am going to use try to find songs that relate to my life then give little stories of how that songs does relate to my life. I love music. Music has a way of taking me to another world and putting the crazy soundtrack of my life essay that I do live in into prospective.
No matter what I am going through, there is always a song that says exactly what I feel. Music can heighten the mood that I am in or simply change my mood all together. When I am feeling sad, I may listen to a slow song and start crying or listen to a more upbeat song to put me in a better mood. And the funny thing is, I do all this without thinking about it. If someone were to ask me what is my favorite song, the list would go on forever, soundtrack of my life essay.
The songs that I chose to go on this CD are not necessarily my favorite songs but I feel that they do describe different times in my life quite well. As you listen to this CD I would like you to actually listen to it, not just hear it.
Hearing is simply the act of perceiving sound by ear while listening is something you consciously chose to do Hearing vs. By listening to the lyrics of the song I believe that one could actually get to know me better. They had pretty convincing arguments and for a brief moment I was actually considering the abortion that most people wanted me to get.
Then about two weeks later I heard this song. I began crying instantly and hated myself for even entertaining the thought of an abortion. This song explains the struggles that I went through during my pregnancy and how none of that matter as soon as I saw this little girls face. We were still together but now I was paying attention to his wrongdoing and was now starting to wonder how in the hell was I still with him.
Yes I still loved him, but that was just about it. But to let go of three years of my young life was a lot to me. What a confusing time of my life.
